Türkiye’s Acıbadem Healthcare Group sign different healthcare protocols in Uganda.

KAMPALA, Uganda. -A renown Turkish global brand in medical tourism, Acıbadem Healthcare Group, has signed different healthcare protocols in Uganda.
Rasim Topuz, the deputy chief executive officer of Acıbadem on Thursday announced in Kampala that, the protocols were signed during a three-day visit by Acıbadem senior officials.
“We are here to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s healthcare system, am glad that we have signed very important protocols with relevant partners and strongly believe that all parties shall greatly benefit from the protocols in terms of serving our societies,” Topuz said.
“The Protocols of cooperation have been signed between healthcare authorities including Kampala International University and Islamic University In Uganda,” he added.
Ilyas Benveniste, director for International Business Development at Türkiye’s Acıbadem Healthcare Group, explained that the healthcare group based in Istanbul, has presence in countries including Türkiye, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, and the Netherlands, providing a comprehensive range of healthcare services using advanced technologies and a largest pool of expert clinicians that meet international quality standards.
Turkish ambassador to Uganda Fatih Ak said there is ample opportunity to boost investment in Uganda and urged Turkish companies to take advantage of the conducive business climate.
The ambassador of Uganda to Türkiye Nusura Tiperu in her speech urged Turkish investors to harness the potential of Uganda and position themselves in investments, adding that the Uganda government offers a competitive raft of incentives, enjoyed by prospective Turkish investors.
Uganda’s minister of State for Finance In Charge Investment and Privatization Anite Evelyn said that the government has widened the potential for Turkish companies and businesses to invest in Uganda’s economy through providing tax holidays and ready market for the products. She thanked Ambassador Tiperu for attracting new investment opportunities from Türkiye.
The Honorary Consul of Uganda to Türkiye in Istanbul, Levent Serdar Dervisoglu noted that relations between Uganda and Türkiye have progressed and deepened over years.
“We are making every effort to promote increased bilateral relations between the brotherly countries of Uganda and Türkiye, today’s achievement is indicative of the critical importance Türkiye places on people-to-people engagement, to develop meaningful and mutually beneficial scientific and economic ties,” he said.
Levent encouraged other Turkish private sector to undertake business engagements, investment and infrastructure development in Uganda, based on the principles of mutual benefit and shared prosperity.
The economic attaché at the Turkish embassy in Kampala Erhan Gökçe said that there has been a sharp rise in visa applicants for Ugandans seeking to travel to Türkiye for medical tourism.
“When you compare the cost of treatment to Türkiye with many other countries in Europe, you see that Türkiye has friendly costs and this is playing a big role in bringing Uganda and Türkiye closer in medical tourism,” he said. He added that the economic relations between the two countries are growing steadily.
Mustafa Karadede, deputy director at Acıbadem said that a rare combination of advanced facilities, skilled doctors, and low cost of treatment have made Türkiye a popular hub of medical tourism, attracting a large number of foreign patients every year.
