Pan-African Muslim Journalists Association (PAMOJA)

Pan African Muslim Journalists Association (PAMOJA) is a professional networking group of journalists, registered in the republic of Uganda.

It was founded in 2010 by a group of dedicated assertive young Journalists to help build the capacity of African media to undertake high quality journalism.

Most of the narratives chosen by powerful news agencies continue to speak to the foundational myths manufactured about Africa in various ways.

The choice of such narratives about Africa, teach a new generation to have a negative attitude about Africa.

There is nothing African, European, America, Asian about good journalism, but universal values. While the context within which it is practiced may be different and may indeed inform the final product, good journalism shares many characteristics that have universal appeal.

Sadly, some African journalists themselves are unaware of how the narratives they help create continue to be infected with the same stories that enable construction of Africa in a negative form.

PAMOJA responds to such issues by way of enhancing the capacity of African journalists and as well tell the African story in a balanced manner.
